COMMITTED TO COMMUNITY
I Remain Committed to the Reasons I was Elected in 2016
Run the Airport safely
Work on solutions to neighborhood noise and annoyance
Ensure the Airport District gives back to all of the communities it collects property taxes from
A lot has been accomplished since I joined the Board in 2016, but there’s much more to do. Join me in ensuring that our economy, environment and all of the communities in North Lake Tahoe and Truckee benefit from contributions of the Airport District.
Rick Stephens' Vision
I am a non-pilot community member running for re-election for the Board of Directors of the Truckee Tahoe Airport District (TTAD).
Since being elected to the Board of Directors in 2016, I have followed through on my commitment to ensure the Airport District is run safely and efficiently, and have been involved with the implementation of solutions designed to reduce noise and annoyance to communities under the flight path.
During my tenure, the District’s contributions to all of the communities it collects property taxes from have increased significantly to support the following:
Recreation & Trails
I am opposed to the Airport competing with private commercial interests on non-aviation land with property tax monies.
I Believe the Airport District has the Opportunity to
Continue to increase Community Sponsorships
Continue to increase Community Partnerships
Encourage and contribute to workforce housing through the Tahoe Truckee Workforce Housing Agency (formed in 2020)
Enhance safety and reduce airplane noise and annoyance through use of ADS-B ground stations, satellites and transponders in the planes.
